1. Can I just purchase ferry tickets and place reservations on-the-spot at BRF counter?
2. Do I need an international passport and visa to enter Bintan?
International passports are needed for exit out of Singapore and entry into Bintan. Bintan is essentially part of Indonesia and considered an international port of call, where immigration clearance and approval is necessary. Indonesia has different visa requirements for different countries. Please check with your travel agent or or the respective Indonesian embassy in your country regarding entry visas to Indonesia. In addition, please ensure that your passport is valid for a minimum of six months
(estimate equal or more than 186 days) at the time of travel. All passengers holding Temporary Passport
MUST obtain valid Visa into Indonesia or approval letter by Immigration Authority at Indonesia Embassy. For more information about visa requirements, please click

3. What are the payment methods for online booking of ferry tickets?
Ferry tickets can be purchased online using Visa and Mastercard Credit Card payment modes. Online Bookings can be made up to 4 hours before departure time.

5. How are parking charges like at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal?

6. How long is the journey from TMFT to Bintan Resorts? Is there a time difference?
The ferry ride from TMFT to Bintan Resorts will take approximately 1 hour 10 minutes. Bintan is one hour behind Singapore time.
7. How do I get to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal from Changi Airport?
Depending on traffic conditions, it takes about 15 minutes by taxi from the airport to the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. Please allow about 30-45 minutes for immigration and security clearance and luggage collection at the airport.
8. If I cannot make it for my departure time, can I transfer my ticket to the next available time?
Passengers who miss their intended departure will have to purchase new tickets on the next departure time(subject to seat availability).
9. Is it safe to travel during my pregnancy?
Ladies who are
28 weeks pregnant or more from time of travel, a medical certification on fitness for travel must be presented during check-in. All pregnant passengers are required to sign an indemnity form at our counter.
Passenger is advised to check on personal health insurance policy coverage or purchase additional travel medical insurance from insurance companies prior to departure.
10. Is the terminal & ferry accessible for wheelchair passenger?
There are limited number of wheelchairs at the terminal and request is subject to availability only. Prior notice must be given to BRF for passengers on wheelchair.
Wheelchair is only accessible from terminal to pontoon. For the interest of passengers’ safety, wheelchair passenger who is unable to walk unaided, he/she must be accompanied by an able-bodied travel companion to assist on his/her embarkation & disembarkation.
11. What is the luggage allowance given per passenger?

12. How do I lodge a damaged or lost bag report?
Passenger must lodge a report on any damaged or lost baggage immediately to BRF duty office upon arrival at the Ferry Terminal. He/she will then be required to complete the damaged or lost baggage report form with details of baggage. After passenger has left the Ferry Terminal, it shall be deemed that the baggage is received in good order and condition as per check-in. BRF shall be under no liability or whatsoever for any loss or damage to the same. For more information, please check our

13. Can I send unaccompanied baggage from Singapore-Bintan or Bintan-Singapore?
For security, baggage checked-in must be tagged to passengers travelling on same trip.
14. Did you leave anything behind onboard?

15. At what time must I check-in for the ferry?
Passengers are advised to check-in with their passports and a copy of confirmed itinerary and collect boarding passes at least one and a half hours before ferry departure time at respective Terminals in:
- Singapore at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (TMFT) BRF check-in counter at #01-21 OR
- Bintan, Indonesia at Bendar Bentan Telani (BBT) Ticketing Office.
Even if you hold a confirmed reservation, you may be denied boarding and your seat may be given to other passengers if you do not check-in latest 40 minutes before ferry departure time.
Passengers who choose to travel on a turnaround timing schedule are to ensure that sufficient time is given for clearance for the returning trip. BRF will not be liable if the passenger fails to board the ferry in time due to immigration or other reasons.
16. How can I arrange for land transfers in Bintan?
Every ferry arrival in Bintan, most hotel representatives will have transport ready to bring passengers to their respective hotel. Please clarify arrangements with your travel agent. You may contact your resort and/or golf operator in Bintan Resorts to arrange for land transfers. For non-hotel guests, a fee may be charged by some of the hotels. Alternatively, you may do so with either of the two rental companies located at the ferry terminal in Bintan, Bandar Bentan Telani.
17. How much is a two-way ferry ticket if I depart on an off-peak day and return on a peak day?

18. Are there food and drinks onboard the ferry?
An extensive range of delicious food and beverages may be purchased onboard our ferry kiosk,

19. Can private charters be arranged?
Private Charters would be the perfect answer if you want to have exclusive use of the ferry. Arrangements may be tailor-made to your preferred date and time of departure. 21. Transporting passengers with Medical Emergencies onboard BRF ferries
Medical Services are not available onboard. If you travel with a pre-diagnosed condition, your travel is entirely at your own risk and you should obtain advise from your own doctor before travel.
A Medical Doctor should accompany the injured person in any of the following cases:
- Severe altered state of consciousness GCS below 9 (e.g. head injury, severe stroke). Passengers should consult the medical doctor at the hotel or resort on the current GCS state of the injured person to determine if medical escort is required for journey back to Singapore;
- Cardiac arrest and continuing to display irregular rhythm and/or persistent chest pains;
- Severe breathlessness;
- Acute Haemorrhage that is bleeding profusely;
- Any medical condition requiring an IV in situ;
- Any fractures – if patient is stabilized and injured part is immobilized, a nurse or medic is sufficient to accompany the passenger back to Singapore.
Bintan Resort Ferries Pte Ltd reserves the right to refuse to transport any passenger with a serious medical condition if that passenger is not accompanied by a qualified doctor or nurse as indicated above.
22. Are passengers insured onboard Bintan Resort Ferries?
Yes. Our fleet has Protection & Indemnity insurance under Shipowners Club.
